XION, a pioneer blockchain that is committed to reshaping rules and promoting the mainstreaming of Web3, officially announced today that former Cardano Chief Marketing Officer Adam Bates has joined as its Chief Culture Officer. Bates, who led Cardano’s glorious period of 2020–2022 during his tenure at Input Output (IOHK), will now inject new fire into XION’s “Legend and Experimental Spirit” project.

Bates joins this time and will be responsible for accelerating XION's global market expansion and promoting XION to realize its vision of "making encryption technology invisible". His strategy is: to build XION into a cultural phenomenon. After companies such as Uber, BMW, LEGO and Amazon have achieved Web3 innovation through XION, he will further amplify these early results and create greater influence.

“The blockchain industry has been trapped in the geek circle for ten years, and has set itself in the technology trap,” Bates said. “XION is the spark I have been looking for. I didn’t leave Cardano to build another chain—XION is the real answer, it can integrate the value of blockchain into everyone’s daily life, from a bunch of technical terms to an invisible backbone of the digital world.”

Bates’ past record should not be underestimated: at Cardano, he led the largest online and offline hybrid encryption campaign ever; won the title of “Fast Company” as the “Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in the World”; and made the Cardano brand surpass Nestlé, BMW and Bitcoin to become the top 30 global brand fan love list.

XION founder Anthony Anzalone (also known as Burnt Banksy) said:

"Adam is a creative monster who not only understands the nature of the industry, but also sees the world outside it. We are not here to play old games, and since Burnt Banksy, the company was destined to disrupt everything. XION is the bridge between Web2 and Web3, and Adam is the one who can tell this story loudly."

Prior to entering the crypto industry, Bates served global giants such as Virgin Atlantic, Barclays, Emirates, LEGO, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Samsung, and served as director at BBDO in London, working in collaboration with more than 300 offices around the world.

Today, XION is embracing the reality of compliance, building partnerships with numerous Web2 giants, ready to lead a new paradigm for Web3 mass adoption.
