Brazil's fourth largest city, Belo Horizonte votes to pass Bitcoin-related bill

05/10/2025·15DPANews May 10th news, according to Bitcoin.com, lawmakers in Brazil's fourth largest city, Belo Horizonte, passed a groundbreaking bill to build the city into an innovation hub for cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin companies. The bill provides incentives for businesses that accept Bitcoin payments and promises to highlight these businesses in city advertising. In addition, the bill promotes educational activities to help citizens adapt to this digital transformation. The bill was passed with 20 votes in favor, 8 votes against and 6 abstentions. The bill will now be submitted to the mayor's office for final approval.
