The biggest round of financing this week
World (excluding Worldcoin) completed financing involving Andreessen Horowitz (a16z crypto), Bain Capital Crypto, Selini Capital, Mirana Ventures and Arctic Digital, raising $135 million.
World is a decentralized identity and financial network designed to meet the
challenges of "human uniqueness verification" in the AI era. At its core is
World ID - a privacy-protecting digital passport that allows users to
prove themselves to be human without revealing their personal information.
The verification method is implemented through a biometric device called
Orb , which generates a unique identifier by scanning the user's iris,
ensuring that everyone can only be verified once.
The World App is the main operating interface of the system, where users can manage World IDs, conduct transactions, and access various services. The entire network runs on the World Chain blockchain designed for "people- oriented" applications and uses WLD tokens for transactions and governance.
