Original title: "We surveyed 42 Solana founders. Here's what they said."

Author: Jack Kubinec

Lightspeed launched an anonymous survey and distributed it to Solana founders, heavy users, etc. to get a true understanding of their views on other ecosystems, venture capital firms, startups, etc.

Survey questions covered a variety of options, with writing spaces provided, and were edited for grammar and clarity.

Here are the results of our survey of 42 founders:

1. Besides Solana, which blockchain would you choose?

Some founders also said: If it were not for Solana, I would not be involved in cryptocurrency. "

2. What is your favorite American political party?

3. Which crypto VC do you have the highest evaluation?

The founders also said: “It’s unfair to choose one over the other.”

4. Which crypto VC do you least like?

The founders also said: "It is not OK for Asian venture capital companies to blindly follow investors based only on who is the lead investor."

5. I heard that the internal circle of Solana is very deep. In order to promote the development of projects within the circle, it is often at the expense of projects outside the circle?

The founders also stated:

"I don't know, it's all the same anyway, there's not much difference."

"I don't like this question, it feels like it's trying to stir up controversy rather than provide information."

"It does exist, and I'm part of it, but it's not 'at the expense of non-internal projects.' Because I also invest a lot of time and money in 'non-internal projects.' It goes both ways - you pay , will also be rewarded.”

"It doesn't exist, but I'm part of it."

“In the early days and during the bear market, some personal networks were formed. Those who valued collaboration and helping Solana naturally developed closer relationships over the years. Some people (including people from the OG Solana Labs team) later It's natural to become an influential figure and have a large following. Almost all of the surviving teams are also funded by venture capital and Solana Ventures. These are true, but there is no malicious intent in my opinion. Solana The foundation does a great job of actively spreading this influence and supporting people in the ecosystem (e.g. Superteam, etc.) Toly is particularly good at supporting builders in a big way without favoritism, in my opinion, not based on personal preference. Based on

  1. the projects they build are cool and 2) their sincerity.”

6. What is Solana’s biggest problem right now?

The founders also stated: “More block space is urgently needed. 5x increase in demand + 2x increase in price = To keep costs for app developers the same, the block size needs to be increased 10x!”

7. What do you think of the significance of Memecoins to Solana?

8. Solana There are many startups that were not founded by you. Which one would you most like to join?

9. Which company do you least want to join?

The founders also said: "Companies that have not yet taken off do not want to join."

10. What is the most overvalued Solana sector?

The founders also said: "SocialFi, DeSci and games all still have potential."

11. The most underrated department of Solana?

12. Which of the following would do the most damage to Solana 's reputation?

The founders also said: "FTX was both the best and the worst in the early days, haha."

There's a lot to dig into here, but I found a few points particularly compelling: Other founders didn't think highly of pump.fun, but they generally thought memecoin was good for the ecosystem. Base and Sui appear to be the most attractive Solana contenders at the moment.

As a journalist, it’s not easy to get founders to speak candidly in public. This survey helped me better understand what Solana’s founders really think—at least as a whole.
