03/01/2025·2MOptimum announced the completion of an angel round of financing, with a lineup of well-known Web3 people including Abhijeet Mahagaonkar (Polychain CTO), Arthur Cheong (founder of DeFiance Capital), Gracy Chen (Bitget CEO), Robinson Burkey (Wormhole Lianchuang), Sandeep Nailwal (Polygon Lianchuang) and Saurabh Sharma (managing partner of Jump Crypto).
It is reported that the project was co-founded by Professor Muriel Médard , NEC Dean of the MIT Department of Computer Science, Dr. Kishori Konwar , and Kent Lin, President of the Harvard Blockchain Association . It is based on the 15-year research results of the MIT Institute of Network Coding and Reliable Communications to create a full-chain expansion plan. Among them, Professor Muriel is the inventor of the random linear network coding (RLNC) technology and is also an academician of the American and German Academy of Engineering and Sciences. It is worth mentioning that this technology has been widely used in the traditional communications industry.
Optimum can provide any L1/L2 blockchain and node operators with high-performance RLNC-based memory infrastructure, including two products: P2P data communication layer and decentralized memory layer (deRAM). This technology aims to break through the blockchain scalability bottleneck, achieve fast data transmission, efficient storage and real-time access, and bring comprehensive performance improvements to L1/L2 blockchain, node operators, dApp developers and users. If Web3 is committed to building a globally integrated decentralized computer, then Optimum is the high-performance memory of Web3.
Financing funds will be used to accelerate product development and bring revolutionary infrastructure upgrades to the Web3 ecosystem.
