Full text of Trump's digital asset summit speech: The United States is already ahead of the crypto industry

At 23:00 on March 20, Beijing time, US President Trump delivered a speech at the Digital Asset Summit (DAS) summit held in New York City, USA in video. This is the first in history to speak at a cryptocurrency-themed conference.

The following is the full text of Trump's speech, compiled by Odaily Planet Daily.

Hello everyone, BlockWorks Digital Asset Summit participants. It is an honor to discuss with you how the United States will dominate cryptocurrencies and the next generation of financial technology.

It's not an easy task, but we're already far ahead. Just two weeks ago, we held the first ever White House Digital Assets Summit, bringing together several cryptocurrency industry leaders from around the world. That meeting was hosted by our White House AI and cryptocurrency director David Sacks, who is a very outstanding and talented person.

In the same week, I also signed an order to create a brand new Bitcoin strategic reserve and U.S. digital asset reserves that will allow the federal government to maximize the value of its positions, rather than selling them as stupidly as Biden is doing to sell them at a price that is much lower than the long-term value. He only gets a small part of the value of these assets.

We will end the previous administration’s regulatory war on cryptocurrencies and bitcoin, which includes stopping illegal actions “Operation Chokepoint 2.0”. Operation Chokepoint Operations exceeded the scope of regulation, far beyond what it should be, and it could even be said to be a legal battle using government weapons. To be honest, this is a shame. But from January 20, 2025, it will all end.

I also call on Congress to pass landmark legislation to formulate simple, common sense rules for stablecoins and market structures. With the right legal framework, institutions of all sizes will be free to invest, innovate, and participate in one of the most exciting technological revolutions in modern history.
