Ethereum Pectra upgrade activated on Holesky test network but failed to confirm in the end, developers are investigating

PANews reported on February 25 that according to CoinDesk, Ethereum's Pectra upgrade was activated on the Holesky test network at 5:55, but according to blockchain data, it was not initially finalized. Final determination refers to an immutable and irreversible state once a transaction is confirmed and added to the block. It is not entirely clear why the test network failed to complete. Ethereum developers are investigating.

This is not the first time an unfinished upgrade is available on the testnet, after a hard fork was not initially completed on the Goerli testnet when developers tested the Dencun upgrade in January 2024.
