According to The Block, Trump Media & Technology Group, a media company owned by US President Trump, is considering launching a practical token that users of the "Truth Digital Wallet" can use the token to pay for "Truth+ subscription fees" and may also be used to pay for "other products and services within the Truth Social ecosystem" in the future. In November, the company submitted a trademark application for the fintech brand Truth.Fi, which mentioned the services related to "computer software for download, used to act as a digital wallet."
According to Bloomberg ETF analyst Henry Jim, BlackRock has applied for an additional digital shares category (DLT) for its $150 billion money market fund.
The DLT stake will be sold only through BNY Mellon, with plans to use blockchain technology to map ownership. Henry Jim believes this move may be a preparation for future digital currency/cash use.
PayPal disclosed in a filing filed Tuesday that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has terminated its investigation into its dollar stablecoin PYUSD and has taken no enforcement action.
PayPal said SEC law enforcement had previously issued a subpoena in November 2023, requesting documents related to PYUSD, and notified the investigation to close in February 2025.
According to Cointelegraph, Bunq, the second largest digital bank in Europe, announced on April 29 that it will launch Bunq Crypto with Kraken, allowing users to invest in more than 300 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ether and Solana. The service will be launched first in the Netherlands, France, Spain, Ireland, Italy and Belgium, with technical support from Kraken.
