Startup Camp Network is about to launch its first public test network, which recently completed a $30 million Series A funding round, according to an announcement released Thursday. The K2 testnet will allow developers to use a layer 1 blockchain designed for IP management. According to the company, the project has launched dozens of decentralized applications, which are expected to be launched later this year when the mainnet is released. “Camp’s ecosystem partners have over 5 million users and creative works in total,” the team said in a statement.

Camp positioned itself as “the world’s largest user-owned IP resource library” and joined the wave of encrypted networks aimed at reshaping intellectual property and creator rights. Supporters believe that blockchain’s ability to track sources and allocate rewards can create a more equitable digital landscape.

In addition to the L1 network, Camp is also building a "rights clear training data" market that enables users to use specific data corpus to train AI systems while also providing compensation to data owners.

“Camp Network is more than just a blockchain – it’s the foundation of a more fair internet where creative work will be protected, belonged, and monetized in a transparent way,” the team said. “Camp is able to support any form of intellectual property, including art, music, film, data and video, enabling collaboration between human creativity and intelligent systems, all backed by verifiable sources.”

Kemp also launched a "Summit Series" event to attract users through a series of on-chain tasks that may provide future rewards.
