Tether AI platform will support Bitcoin and USDT payments

Stablecoin giant Tether’s upcoming artificial intelligence platform Tether AI will support mainstream cryptocurrency payments, including USDt and Bitcoin.

On May 5, Tether CEO Paolo Adroino was a guest at X to preview the upcoming new artificial intelligence platform Tether AI, aiming to provide "individual unlimited intelligence".

According to Ardoino, Tether 's artificial intelligence platform will integrate with USDt and Bitcoin payments, allowing users to trade directly through a peer-to-peer (P2P) network.

The program is based on Tether's announcement in December 2024 that it is developing a website for the AI ​​tool, with the goal of launching by the end of the first quarter of 2025.

Supports "any hardware and device"

Ardoino stresses that Tether AI does not use application programming interface (API) keys and does not rely on centralized control points.

Instead, Tether AI will provide a “full open source AI runtime” that runs on an “unstopped point-to-point network” and “fully modular and composable.”

Additionally, he said Tether AI will be able to adapt and evolve on “any hardware and device.”

WDK helps P2P encrypted payment

The announcement also stated that Tether AI's P2P crypto payment will "converge" with its open source wallet development kit (WDK) launched in November 2024.

Tether's WDK is a toolkit that helps developers build mobile, desktop and web wallet applications that support self-hosted or unmanaged USDt and Bitcoin.

Unlike custodial wallets, self-custodial wallet solutions allow users to have full control over assets, thus eliminating the need to rely on third-party custodial solutions to complete transactions.

Tether doubles down on AI

Tether AI is part of the company's broader strategy to expand its layout in the field of artificial intelligence.

In April 2024, Tether announced the company's restructuring, setting up a new department outside stablecoin development, and establishing Tether Data, a specialized department focusing on AI and P2P development.

In February, Ardoino announced that its AI division is developing a range of AI applications, including AI translation, AI voice assistant and AI Bitcoin wallet assistant.
